Read full review →Yes. The built-in camera has a tiny sensor and looks poor in low light. A dedicated 1080p webcam dramatically improves how you look in meetings, especially indoors without studio lighting. It's one of the cheapest, most noticeable image upgrades.
1080p is the sweet spot for video calls: sharp on any platform without needing a powerful PC. 4K is only worth it if you record content or stream; in a meeting the platform usually compresses to 1080p or less, so you won't use it.
Its microphone is emergency-only. If audio matters to you (and it adds a lot of professionalism), pair the webcam with a headset or a USB mic. The webcam for the image; the audio separately.
